Inauguration of Indonesia’s President and Vice President 2024-2029: Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka Officially Sworn In
The inauguration ceremony began with the singing of the national anthem "Indonesia Raya," followed by a moment of silence to honor the nation's heroes. Afterward, MPR Chairman Ahmad Muzani officially opened the Plenary Session for the Inauguration of the President and Vice President of Indonesia for the 2024-2029 period.
The procession continued with the recitation of the Presidential Oath, followed by the Vice Presidential Oath. Both pledged to carry out their duties and responsibilities to the best of their abilities for the benefit of the nation and the country.
“By Allah, I swear to fulfill my duties as the President of the Republic of Indonesia to the best of my ability and as fairly as possible. To uphold the Constitution and execute all laws and regulations faithfully, and to serve the nation and country,” said President Prabowo.

The next step was the signing of the Inauguration Report, followed by the handover of the document, marking the formal ratification of the inauguration. Then, a symbolic exchange of seats took place between the President and Vice President for the 2024-2029 period and President Joko Widodo and Vice President Ma’ruf Amin for the 2019-2024 term.
The next agenda was the first speech by the President of Indonesia. “I, Prabowo Subianto, and my colleague Gibran Rakabuming Raka, have taken an oath to uphold our Constitution, to enforce all existing laws and regulations, and to serve the nation and country. We will carry out this oath to the best of our ability,” said President Prabowo.
In his speech, President Prabowo also emphasized that his administration would focus on food and energy self-sufficiency. He expressed confidence that within the next 4 to 5 years, Indonesia would achieve food self-sufficiency. “We are even ready to become the world's food hub,” said President Prabowo.
“We are ready to continue the leadership baton. We are prepared to work hard towards Indonesia Emas, becoming a strong, independent, sovereign, just, and prosperous nation,” added President Prabowo.
After the ceremony, the President and Vice President of Indonesia left the MPR Building for the State Palace, marking a new beginning for Indonesia’s leadership towards a better future.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by several prominent figures, including the 6th President of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, the 6th Vice President of Indonesia, Try Sutrisno, the 10th and 12th Vice President of Indonesia, Jusuf Kalla, the 11th Vice President of Indonesia, Budiono, Mrs. Sinta Nuriyah Abdurrahman Wahid, Mrs. Soraya Hamzah Haz, the Deputy Chairmen of the MPR, the Chairman and Deputy Chairmen of the DPR, the Chairman and Deputy Chairmen of the DPD, the Chairmen of State Institutions, the Chairpersons of Political Parties present, Heads of State, Heads of Government, and special envoys from friendly countries, Ambassadors and representatives from friendly countries, the Attorney General, the Commander of the Armed Forces, the Chief of the National Police, and the Chiefs of Staff of the Military, accompanied by a performance from the Praditya Wiratama Symphony Orchestra of Indonesia Defense University.
