Hamas Confirms Death of Yahya Sinwar in Israeli Attack on Gaza
The head of Hamas in Gaza, Khalil Hayya, on Friday (18/10) officially confirmed that the Hamas leader, Yahya Sinwar, had been killed by an attack by Israeli troops in the Gaza area.
In his speech, Hayya praised Sinwar as a figure who was "steadfast, brave and unwavering," describing Sinwar's dedication and courage while leading the resistance movement.
Hayya added that Sinwar “sacrificed his life for our liberation struggle,” emphasizing Sinwar's full commitment to the Hamas cause.
"He met his death bravely, with his head held high, holding his gun, shooting until his last breath, until the last moment of his life," explained Hayya further, providing a description of Sinwar's final seconds.
Hayya also reminisces about Sinwar's past, stating that “[Sinwar] has lived his entire life as a holy warrior. Since his youth, he was involved in the struggle as a resistance fighter. He remained defiant behind bars in Israel and after being released in a prisoner exchange deal, he continued his struggle and dedication to this cause.”
